Making a Will in Scotland is one of the most important things you can do to protect your loved ones and to ensure that your property will be passed to your chosen beneficiaries.
Having a Will also makes the practicalities of dealing with your estate much quicker and easier for your family as well as keeping costs down. In the absence of a Will, your estate will be distributed in accordance with the Scottish law of intestacy which can have unexpected and unwelcome results.

A Living Will, sometimes known as an “advance medical directive”, provides a way of ensuring that your wishes are respected towards the end of your life when you may be too ill to make those wishes known.
Usually, it will consist of a formal declaration requesting that life-prolonging measures be withheld in circumstances where you are close to death and there is no prospect of recovery so that you will simply be kept comfortable and be allowed to pass away peacefully and with dignity. As well as providing peace of mind for you, having a Living Will may be of great comfort to your family and loved ones who may be called upon to make some very difficult decisions at a very distressing time.
